Finally, it is just early April and he has this in the bag already. Thus, he can peak for Nationals (although it is easier to get good early down in FL).

Actually they do take a bit of a break from speed training and reload to peak in June.
Also, with regionals, they are not aiming at a time qualifier, they have to race there way to Nationals.
This produces generally different tactics and approaches to the season than for indoors.
