Multiplication and division are interchangeable in PEMDAS. It becomes 48/2*12 after the parenthesis. Then it just goes left to right. 24*12.

Think of it like this:

48*(1/2)(12)

NOT SO HARD.

24(12)=288

I thought that was a plus and the answer was 72.
