Weighing in again...
I agree with the above...mostly.
For others out there...a baseball is much harder to hit than a cricket ball. This is one fact cricketers have to 'get over'. IMHO no other world sport has as its 'essence' anything as difficult as contacting a baseball...and I am/was a cricketer.
BUT cricket is not about just hitting a ball,as tennis,etc is not just about hitting a ball. Baseball is mostly about being able to hit that ball! Most batters miss the ball most of the time. Not so with batsmen in cricket. The skill in cricket is being able to place the ball between the fielders or over the fielders or clearing the field. As 360 degrees of the field is used ( not 90 degrees) a batsman has to master many different strokes...maybe at least 16+ in order to be considered a batsman. Both batters and batsmen at the higher echelons are very gifted athletes.
