I totally believe it. He is obviously a VCU grad, but the other picks aren't that crazy.
Every year on ESPN there is a near-perfect bracket. With 5.2 million brackets, you have to expect it. My bracket has Kentucky and UConn. I had Pitt beating Butler, but I don't think it's too absurd to pick last year's runner up to make the final four, particularly considering how weak that region was.
Out of 5.2 million, I would definitely expect someone to have the Final Four right. The year George Mason went, I think three people had perfect Final Fours. All of them GMU grads, obviously.

Must be my location in the northeast, but out of 28 people in my pool:
--9 picked UConn for the final 4, with 2 picking them to win it all (including me)
--4 picked Kentucky for the final 4 (none these 4 had UConn)
So nearly half of my pool had 1 final 4 pick correct, which is quite a bit better than the experts that I was looking at on the CBS Sports web site. -
The experts generally can't predict the winners of these games any better than the general public. They can do a good job of analyzing what went down after the game, but that's often the extent of it. Case and point: Jay Bilas said that VCU "failed the laugh test" in regards to their invite to the big dance, and then I believe he picked kansas to win it all. VCU beat Kansas, and is in the final four, and Jay Bilas now looks like the dumbest person on television. Love it. I was never a Duke fan anyways...

I don't think he's necessarily a VCU grad/fan. Could be a Southern Cal fan, though his life would be much the worse for it. I definitely picked my brackets before the play-ins, when it was still listed as "Southern Cal/VCU".

Cheater Calipari? Please elaborate on this. Last time I checked Kentucky earned their way to the Final Four fair and square. The same goes for Calhoun.
Yes but Derrick Rose didn't "earn" his way into college while Calipari was at Memphis.
Isn't it funny how Calipari leaves for Kentucky right when allegations against Memphis occur? -
Seriously, give me a break. The two other schools Calipari has taken to the final four have gotten hit with NCAA violations right as he walked out the door. As far as the NCAA is concerned, this is his first final four appearance. The guy is a cheater. What's the over under on the number of years it takes for this one to get wiped from the books?

The dude is neither a genius nor a VCU grad. Just a guy who got really lucky.
And as for Calipari, college basketball is full of slime ball coaches and Calipari is at the top of the list. -

Flagpole,
Same way with pool except my son is still in with Kentucky. He won and is 3 for basically no other reason than picking Kentucky.
Same here, only we took second in our pool with UConn in. I thought UNC and KU, my other picks, were locks coming into Sunday. All we needed was UNC in to win it all. Kentucky probably has best chance to win, though VCU has taken down all of the big dogs, and I am rooting against that cheat in Calipari. He reminds me of that slimy pro agent from Florida - Drew Rosenhaus or whatever his name is?
