In reference to the heat, Carol Lewis says "they are wetting all their spots that need to be wet."
I thought ESPN canned her. She should not be broadcasting on marathons, let alone track meets.

she is total crap
Carol Lewis is crap.
With regards to the women's race she just siad something to the effect of "if you're not watching this right now you need to turn on ESPN2". Sheesh. Someone please put her, and us, out of this misery.
I couldn't believe what she was saying. Didn't she say something about putting water under their arms??? And then that comment about if you're not watching...Shame on her and the people who hired her.
She also said, immediately after the "if your not watching this you should be..." comment, that "they (the women) have an extra incentive, because this very well could be the last marathon they will race together before Athens."
Ha-ha-ha...ha-ha. Since I can't think of anything good to say about her, I won't say anyt....ha-ha, I lied: she is, um, out-of-category bad.
don't you guys get it? it's satire. she's not TRYING to be good ... right ... right??
They REALLY put Carol Lewis on Boston coverage today?
If true, I think it means US distance running has hit a new low.
It'd be OK if they put some babe in a tube top like Carol Alt to cover Boston on a hot day, but not a fat, ignorant pig like Carol Lewis. They don't withstand the heat well.
As bad as Carol was (and boy was she terrible), was Lewis Johnson much better? Worst color commentary ever.
OTOH, I thought Culpepper added some class to that broadcasting gong show. Maybe get him to ride the press truck next time.
How do the colored folk like Lewis feel knowing the only reason they get their damn jobs is to fill some government quota? Wouldn't it be nice if talent and ability still counted for something?
It doesn't have to be someone white, or black, or latino. Race doesn't have anything to do with competence.
Boston used to be a world-class race. Carol Lewis belongs at the Flying Pig Marathon and nowhere else.
If they're looking for a competent female commentator, there must be hundreds of thousands of women out there who could do the job better.
at least carol lewis comes from a running background and knows a little bit about track and field. at least they didn't bring back michelle tafoya who added nothing, in my opinion.
ESPN 2 just showed the entire marathon, both mens and womens, and you guys are still complaining?

Ah, Michelle Tafoya. What's her deal. I can't tell what her background is. I think there's probably some dark oak in the family tree but I detect some other sort of mixture too. Any ideas?
they just need to realize that someone with a distance background needs to cover a distance race...they'd never have a distance person talking about jumps or throws...frickin gotta love when they asked culpepper if he ever thought of running a marathon after they had just talked to him about the trials...glorious
As bad as Carol Lewis is, I am just happy to see that ESPN2 broadcast the damn thing at all. And no delay for obscure NCAA basketball teams.
Fuck ESPN. They took off my World Series of Poker rerun for that damn race.
We don't want her here in Cincinnatti!

I tried her hydration technique that she recommended all distance runners do , " Make sure you hydrate under your arms" , I did it three times but I was still thirsty ?
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
Jakob Ingebrigtsen has a 1989 Ferrari 348 GTB and he's just put in paperwork to upgrade it
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
