Rule #176
Wearing black face masks during races in which in isn't colder than -10 F is unacceptable.
Rule #34
No matter how fast he runs, Galen Rupp sucks.

When entering a road race you never wear that year's t-shirt. If you have ran that race before then you must wear the oldest shirt from that race.
Thou shalt never be the guy who arrives 3 hours before the start of the race, at the small dinky local 5k.
I just want to know what happened at West Catholic...
They had some extremely inapproaite behavior in the locker room and their team got cut.
Never da any sort of celebration that may look arrogant.
If you win you must shake the runner up's hand
If you lose to someone you used to beat, shake his/her hand after the race
Never give any excuses, or seem too overwelmed if you win
you may race the 800/mile with running tights to show it's not your best distance
runners with very ripple ribs must wear singlets which are a number above
Thou shalt not wear fanny pack if thine race is less than marathon distance.
Thou shalt not drop out of race if thy be off pace and hath completed greater than 50% of thine race.
Thou shalt not carbo load if thine race is only 5 kilometers.
After a big race all team members (whether they ran or not) must go out and get completely shit-faced.
A small thing, but please use THAN instead of THEN in "distance running is harder then sprinting" and a few other places.
Fix Roman Numeral IXXX to XXIX.
@gv10k, way to rain on people's parade. It's not cool to come to this thread and call out the OP. Letsrun is not school. Runners can discuss whatever they want here without being taken down a notch by their school faculty.
OP and The Stache, great job. I like the rule about wearing a tee-shirt or nothing for temp above 40 degrees.
Thou shalt not run with shorts worn outside of sweat pants.
Never look back at the runners behind you. They don't exist.

which was the point of the joke...I'll give credit if you were simply extending it (and I hope you are).

Oh yea I forgot about the most important rule, don't run with an ipod, if you enjoy running you don't need music... the music is for out of shape people try to force themselves to get into shape
I won all 3 of these at my state meet and was also part of the 4x400. So, really, no excuses. You're not nearly as tired as you think you are.

Also ChubsyUbsy, I dont know how many times you have had to triple up in a highschool meet with mile-800-2 mile. But it is exhasuting especially with good competetion.
don't train in your competition uniform. no one cares and it makes you look like a tool. pre-competition equipment checks for races over 10 miles exempt.
don't train in matching faux-uniform-type-shite purchased for the purpose of masquerading as a sponsored athlete. that makes you a dishonest douche-bag. leave the Livestrong collection at home. if you are over 40 this does not apply as no one cares what you do anyway and your wife may not want you to look like a mentally ill hobo who can't afford matching clothes (i'm over 40 and can testify that no one gives a shit what i do anymore).
getting a discount from the running shack does not make you sponsored or a "pro". you are sponsored if you have a signed piece of paper that constitutes a contract and you get free product as a result, for the purpose of promoting the wares of a particular company. you are a professional if you are sponsored and/or earning money by competing. working in a running store does not in of itself make you sponsored, or a professional. although many professional runners can and do work in stores to make ends meet.
there are maybe 4 age groups that count: junior, senior, masters, veteran. coming first place in the 25-29 category is not meaningful. especially if the race was won by a 34 year guy and you came 14th. don't tell your teachers/friends/co-workers you "won" anything because you didn't. however you are entitled to unabashedly enjoy any prize you win whilst running. feel free to mock the guy who beat you and yet got nothing for coming 4th in the 35-39 category. he didn't win either but at least you got some sneakerballs or something. deep down you know you are better than him and will some day prove it.
sundays = long run
You must streak no less than 2 times a year.
