i agree that it is, at the very least, a badge of honor to run at boston. and even if you don't run well (for whatever reason) it's still cool. but i like to race fast and prefer to have the conditions allow me to race faster than i've done before.

Once more before I quit on this one. I do know a uy who got his PR in the '76 race. To do that under such conditions was quite an accomplishment, but if he'd given in the "not a PR kind of day" mindset, it wouldn't have happened.
I just think the sense of adventure and diversity is being lost as everyone goes for the "flat and fast" courses.
But it's an individual thing. I don't really care if someone else bas a race because the conditions are bad or not.
That's supposed to be "does" a race. I don't know what I was typing.
