After coming into college and getting hurt during XC season----lost 4 months due to a burst achilles, I started running again in late december
I ran a good indoor season, breaking my PR from senior year in HS with a 1:52.28 at IC4A's
I have been running consistently in the 1:53's but yesterday busted my last 200 in 36 or so
my high school season (michigan) only lasted from march-may
have I peaked.... my new season is Janruary to May (NCAA regionals May 28-29)??
or is it my lack of a base that is killing me?
I just recently PR'ed in my 400 time from 49.87 to 49.70... I am not the best college mid-distance guy there is but should I be working speed workouts like 400s and 200s or should I be doing 600s and 300s??
any advice is appreciated.... I have 3 workouts this week
Sunday: 3 x 400 (under 52 each, 10 minutes rest in between)
Tuesday: 5 x 600 (1:28-1:30, 5 minutes inbetween each)
Thursday: 200 in 28, 45 second jog to the 200, run a 600 at 1:24, 5 minutes rest, 56 second 400 45 second jog to the 200, run a 54 second 400, 5 minutes rest, 3 x 200 at 45 seconds, run a 200 as fast as possible.... (the workout is hard to explain.... my coach has it and i dont remember most of it so its different than this by a bit)
