We should start looking for a narft certified course so you can achieve something worth mentioning.
That's obviously not the point. I was making fun of his mask. He is also very fast and an olympian. You are a cock smoker.
the mask is dorky, but who cares? The guy ran his race and ran very well.
Big deal.
He's just wanting a cute bear costume like the Gouchers' little tike. Can't blame him too much. And really, is the mask any worse than the arm warmers?

Personally, I am really impressed with Rupp today. Sure he looked ridiculous wearing that mask, but ran with guts. He fell, got back up, led the race at several points, and hung tough up until the final spring when obviously his legs didn't have it. A great time considering a 5 something first mile and a debut at the distance. Why don't you guys start focusing on how he runs not what he wears?
Start focusing on how he runs and not what he wears? Dude, are you a idiot or just fake it really well??
It's BECAUSE of what Rupp wears that makes it so hard to just focus on how he runs. Personally, I was cheering for the guy beforehand. I really wanted him to get up there and give it a shot. But the damn jacko mask ruined it for me. How in the hell can any blue collar runner root for a guy that wears a damn mask while running that is not associated with religious beliefs or some nuclear shit hampering the air. He's forever a dick now. Forever.
Was I the only one that noticed he was wearing REEBOK NFL EQUIPMENT Gloves?

Without a doubt! How in the hell did you notice his gloves while he had that mask on? That was ridiculous.
Everyone who keeps pressing "just focus on his run" are probably the same folks who believe "winning is all that matters". Call me an old fart, but damnit HOW you do what you do really does matter.

What?
what's up with the Oregon Project logo? Is it supposed to resemble a skull?

_______________
So why do you think he wore the mask? Lets say it was because cold air causes asthma or something like that. Would you be happier if he DNS? Or that he didn't care what people like you think and decided to run the bloody race no matter how stupid he looked?
For me, this makes him a hero

Prodigy: A two time winner of Footlocker, or a breaker of a previous prodigy like Lindgren or Ryun's records.
Hmm, looks like German doesn't qualify. What's that you say, he broke Jeff Nelson's record? Nelson who? Exactly.

What?
I believe the post was an attempt at humor. You see surgeons are known to wear masks while in surgery. Galen was wearing a mask. Therefore, the poster was trying to tie to the two together in a humorous way and imply that when not running, Galen could be going to medical school to become a surgeon. It then beckons the question did he get confused and wear his compression socks to class last night and his mask to the race today?
Ridiculous or not it does seem to be an allergy (or potential allergy) related thing since he took it off after they got out of Central Park, no?

Do we need to splice this thread with the Ritz goes under the knife thread?

He wore something similar warming up for the XC race in Edinburgh, Scotland where it was freezing cold with snow on the ground.
When I saw it, i did a double take and even took a photo. But he didn't wear it during the race. I think it's supposed to keep the air he breaths at the right temperature.
It's 35 in NYC now.
So now the AIR isn't Rupp certified?

It's the Portland Anarchist look. Leave Galen Alone! Just leave him alone!
He needed to put a bird on it.
Seriously, if he doesn't want people to think he's a prima donna, he probably should never wear the Silence of the Lambs mask again.....a simple white or green surgical mask would suffice.
Probably took it off when he felt his lungs were warmed up. It didn't seem to hinder his performance.
