The IHSA would not allow him to compete at the top indoor meets, and compete for his school. So he had no real choice but to run unattached.

Isn't Tirunesh and Defar only like 20 seconds back?

And what about that Mongolian kid that ran 8:21 for the 2 mile?
Yeah, I heard he did this on the Great Wall. When he finished, he jumped over into China and cooled down by pillaging villages.
Where can I find an article on this kid??
Everyone stop talking about LV because he is not currently the number 1 runner in the world at the moment. There is no reason to discuss an athlete unless they are the current world leader. This is a fact.

According to the NFHS about 570K boys run outdoor track and field in a year...about 56K boys run indoor track...
like the other person said it was definitely due to the sheer number of kids he was lapping. he kept having to swing wide on the turns and even at one point had to push a poor kid out of his way. same thing happened in the 2 mile, though his frustration was a little more obvious in the 5k. if he hadn't had to lap so many people he would've gone under 14 and broken 840

Yeah, but I bet a lot larger percentage of the fast kids run indoors.
