That's correct. Science doesn't begin with a conclusion and then dedicate itself to proving it (this is not to be confused with proving/disproving of theories).

It makes no difference. Even practicing scientists are not immune bias and a degree doesn't insulate one from bias. Science isn't an aspect of a person, science is a process.
The mathematical probability of biogenesis cannot be calculated as it's essentially an unknown, at least at this point. Anyone, even creationist 'scientists' are free to speculate, but such ventures are nothing more than exercises in math, not true science.
