Seriously LR? These are the best questions you can come up with for Alan F-ing Webb?
Crap like "Alan you need to run the 5k you'll be better than in the mile."
You really think he hasnt thought about that and hering it from a guy on LR is going to influence him in anyway.
Alan,
You were notoriously tight lipped about the training under Razcko. Any chance that we could get sample weeks from phases of training. I know that you said you didnt think it was the way to go and I am not saying that it is...
In a way, that is what makes what you did so insane. Everyone who followed runnign closely knew you were just humping the beast into submission. AND that training certainly played a part in some of the most fantastic fitness we have ever seen.
Please, please, please, not just for me, but for every fan of running, consider posting those logs. It is a part of American history and no less.
If you don't want to now maybe later? And if never can we at least get the courtesy of why not?
But a great troll.
I know this is against the LR trolling rules, but,
12/10

I hope you read this and this is all it takes to push you over the edge and go home. I'm sure the idea is on your mind.
It is early in the year, and Webb has already mixed it up well with the olympic gold and silver medalists. He seems to be doing just fine at this point in the season, despite his own lofty expectations during indoors.
Also, anyone who thinks Webb would be dumb enough to post under anything but an alias here on letsrun is a complete idiot. To do so would be career suicide. His sponsors would not look favorably on a public debate concerning old coaches, past grievances, etc. After the debacle in New York, he is probably staying as far away from this website as possible.
Succinctly: we know this isn't Alan Webb because Alan Webb isn't an idiot.
Alan,
Who would win on iron chef, you or Ritz?

??? of course they don't...
I think its impossible to "know" a person in the media.
So all we know of AW is his latest times and comments. Not the whole history. At least not with the proper weight to each period/episode. So a casual observer has a very different opinion of AW than AW's professional peers and friends.

Unless, of course, it is really Wejo or Employee #1 having a little fun at Alan's expense. After what transpired, I can't say I'd blame them if they did.
If this is the real Alan Webb, I would say that most, if not all, of the people on this board want you to do well.
So many of us have seen the greatness and believe you are capable of more. I think it's why so many criticize you, honestly. They saw the nutrition habits, the training under your h.s. coach and the living with your buddies as you not taking the sport seriously. Hell, for that matter, the same people criticizing you for your performances so far under Salazar are the same ones that were telling you to get away from Fairfax and Coach Razcko!
Run hard, run fast and best of luck, Alan.
So much negativity. You guys should squash your hatred, let go of the past, and bongo drum your way to enlightenment.
If it was u posting alan webb you have european fans to. Keep racing !!!! And if ever please visit the memorial van damme.

It ain't him. He is still down under and its 3 in the morning right now.
Not saying you're wrong, but even elite athletes get insomnia. (Actually, this very non-elite athlete has it and probably caught it from this thread.)
Interesting conversation in which people can't be a hundred percent sure that the person they're talking to is Alan Webb or not. Something akin to what happens for agnostics who pray?
Hey Alan,
You do write really well. Is that attributable to your high school education? Or do you read a lot?
You come a long way since that sad visit to Olympia last winter. You're right on track with the slow and steady progression philosophy. Hell you might be still kicking a s s like Lagat when you're 36!
Anyways - good luck with the acting side job.
Alan,
IYHO, seriously now ,who would have won that dream 2 mile between you and Dathan in the Spring of 2001? Did you ever consider going for Jeff Nelson's record?

What kind of an education did you get? You don't know how to use the phrase "a lot" correctly.

Dear Alan,
What the hell?!?! We have talked about this.
1) You need to be sleeping if you are going to continue to unleash your inner lion, a tired lion makes for a weak hunter
2) There is no excuse to be conversing with these low lifes, you don't see the lions on the savanah hanging out with the mearcats now do you?
2a) If you reply with some clever remark concerning an animated cartoon, so help me Alan, it will be YOU, not me, but YOU giving Galen his sponge bath tomorrow.
3) I saw you hiding that snack pack in your running shorts after the workout today, don't think I didn't, you will be doing an extra repeat for that. The lean lion leads the pack. Grrrr baby.
4) I love you and you will never mean to Scott what you mean to me!!!!
xoxoxoxoxoxo,
Berty
I think this really could be Alberto.
I am calling bs on the 45 pull up thing!!!
Geez, what is *UP* with all you guys who want to drag down the fastest mile runner our nation has ever produced?
REAL Alan, my name is Dan B., and I live right next to the University of Washington in Seattle. After I saw you run the 3000m at the Flotrack Husky Classic on Sat., Feb. 12th, I went to a nearby local bar to have a couple of post-meet beers. I saw you and a lovely young lady (whom I assume was your wife) come in and sit at the bar, and you both had dinner and a couple of drinks.
Do you want to confirm the name of that bar, so I can tell all of these negativity geeks that it really IS you posting on this message board?
Thanks for all of the thrilling runs over the years, and please don't let any of this hater-crap get you down.

Okay how are any of these questions or the questions on the past two pages better than "what is your next race?"
Dan, I don't remember the name of the bar. I don't even really remember going out to a bar after that meet. But really, I'm not looking to prove that this is me. The people that want a discussion will have to trust me, and those that don't believe, please stop wasting your time and clogging up this thread.
Thanks again for all the encouragement. It's nice to know that most people are still fans, despite all the negative garbage that floats around.
I haven't been on in a while, so if some people wrote specific questions, sorry for not getting around to reading them. Post them again! I have seen a ton of questions about my next race. I'm not supposed to talk about that too much, but I will say that I'll be running the mile at Pre. This whole season's training had sort of been designed to give me the best chance at Pre.
Sorry for not posting yesterday.
