Really? It seemed appropriate.
Nobody, well hardly anyone, runs the 2 mile anymore.
Nevertheless, here are a couple of round numbers:
9:00 - a really good time; fast enough to make about any college team; national class for high school runners; potential for sub 14:30s 5K/sub 30 10K with some specific training.
9:20 - solid; most colleges will pick up a 9:20 2 miler although not fast enough for a scholarship at upper tier D1 schools; good enough to win most state championships or at least make all-state; immediate potentinal to run 15 for 5K and sub 31 for 10K.
Male or female?

That is way too fast for freefall dives. I don't think they hit that even in speed skydiving.
in HS, anything close to or under 10min actually isnt that bad. the long term is what's important

if you can get under 10 you are a pretty good runner. nothing special but imo thats when youre allowed to say you are a good runner

Sadly, for that pointless non-sequitur post, I actually took the time to look up the speed and convert to pace, but forgot to double it for the 2 mile. Guess I fail letsrun.

Don't feel bad. You definitely did not fail letsrun. Most of us here don't even know what terminal velocity means.
Pretty dumb question without perspective. If a pro ran 9:00, I wouldn't think he was good. If some guy at work told me he ran 11:00 over the weekend, I'd think he was a good.
HS runners that break 10 minutes are considered good. College runners need to be at or near 9 minutes to be considered good.
