It depends on what continent you are on the east coast of... the site has several clocks on it and Local Time is for New Zealand.
There are also local clocks for EST, CST, MST, so you should be able to figure out the time difference.
At the moment, New Zealand is 13 hours ahead of UTC and if those clocks are correct, 18 hours ahead of EST.
If you want to watch the men's 800m at 5:30 pm in NZ, then that should be 11:30 pm on Friday night EST.
