Midwesterner Moving West: NEED HELP WHERE!

Portland, I hear there are a couple midwesterners out there training now.

You are probably going to find LA, SF (particularly), and possibly Seattle overly expensive for permanent relocation. I would highly recommend Eugene or Portland. Both great and highly liveable towns and not overly expensive.

I'd add San Diego and Sacramento to the list.

San Diego costs less than LA/Orange County and there are jobs available.

Many people who can't afford to live in SF or Silicon Valley live in Sacramento or Stockton and commute.

Still need some help . . .

I grew up in LA and now live in the midwest (St Louis area). You NEED to find a job if you're going to live in LA wayyy before you move out there. It's way too expensive. Same goes for SF.
