Just found out I will be getting laid off from my job at the end of April and my Wife finishes school in May. We feel its a great chance to start new, as we have both lived in the midwest our whole lives. We have about $20,000 saved and few material things. We have decided to make no plan, but just leave in May (From Kansas City Area) and drive West and decide after our trip where to live. This is the route we have looked into taking:
KC > Albuquerque > Flagstaff > LasVegas > Los Angeles > San Francisco > Redding > Eureka > Eugene > Portland > Seattle > Vancouver.
This isn't really a vacation (Although LV might be more just fun), but scoping out new places to live. We're intentionally not going through Texas or Colorado, because we know enough about them.
How does our route look? Any reccomendations along the way in these cities? Any additional places worth looking? Any ideas on how to do it cheaply?
Thank you for any ideas.
