So I'm a second year auditor at a Big 4 and my running is suffering because I don't have a lot of time to train. I'm always exhausted and my runs are never quality. Sunday is really the only day that I can go hard and do whatever I want. The past week my mileage went as follows:
Sun-17
Mon-0
Tue-6
Wed-0
Thurs-0
Fri-10
Sat-12
I can't drag myself out of bed in the morning before work - when I do I hit the wall around 10am and the day is miserable for 12 more hours. After work I just feel exhausted, end up going on Letsrun like I am right now and then the cycle repeats. Fridays and Saturdays I get out of work at a "normal" hour so I can actually get some training in. Saturday night I get some good rest and then I hit it hard on
Question to help me cope: At what point do you guys draw the line between sleep and running? i.e. is it better to get rest or mileage, and to what point?
Second, related question: I am trying to train for a marathon, ran a 2:43 last year and have Boston coming up. What are some workouts to do to maximize marathon training on skimpy mileage? Last year I was doing the same crap that I'm doing right now and I don't want it to happen again.
