I am planning on doing a short workout tomorrow with my race the next day. It is 400/400/200/200/200/200 1min rests very fast ie. 800m pace or faster. Will this effect my race the next day, or will I be 100?

Not to be critical but what are you attempting to achieve by running repeats one day before a race? Confidence booster? Personally I would run easy 30-45 minutes with some strides and call it a day.
i missed a workout earlier this week with a cold, this is not my peak racem ut i do want to run fast
i did something similar day before a mile race... go for it, may make the 5k pace seem easier
I wouldn't worry about trying to "make up" a missed workout. Especially so since you are coming off illness. Your body likely is still recovering. Too much could set you back for next week. If you are fit you are fit. One workout does not a season make... I would focus on running the best race you can on Friday and get back into your old routine the following week. Good luck to you!
8/10.
And if I'm wrong... I think you should just do it and see what happens.

Only so he knows it's a stupid idea and he should never do it again.
I missed a workout, so that's why I'm going to run two workouts in a row thus making both, or at least one, suffer.
Great idea.
