    This being said, this recent separation was not a marketing decision but reflects a certain amount of animosity between the two Portland groups. This does NOT extend to the athletes but is between the principals and as time goes by is solidifying.

    I'm sure that what AlSal wants to do. But the cost of living in San Diego is very expensive. Especially housing and rents. The tacos, frijoles, and burritos are the same price as Portland though.

    Its simple , Nike has a internal travel desk , the club has a budget for travel , they book the flights as a team around the events and its extracted out of the given travel budget.

    Nike does have a corp jet and its not used to tote around athletes.

    Too bad team members can't get enough money from Nike for day to day living expenses. Many have to have parental financial support, moonlight at a health club, or dip into savings.

    He'll be back. It's at least 3 times more expensive to live in Southern California. Nike won't pay extravagant So Cal unless Al Sal coaches medals at Daegu. He should just move to Eugene. There's Burrito Boy in Eugene too.
