Solve what problems? Probably just create more when all the irresponsible countries dragged down the currency like the PIGS are doing to the Euro.

The financial issues we face are not caused by the currency, they are cause by the people who use and control it. The only thing that will solve the problems is to stop stealing from posterity.
A world currency would totally destroy whatever sovereignty the US has left and deliver the entire global economy into the control of the international financial elite. This system would eventually fail just as the current fiat system has, but not before putting the world through decades of agony.
