It really shouldn't be that shocking that occasionally somebody such as Isaiah Koech emerges from this fertile crop of potential champions.

That was very interesting. Certainly a stark contrast to my experience with running as a young kid. I remember in elementary school every two weeks we'd have like a ~1km race, I'd always finish near the front, basically because I moved my legs slightly faster than walking speed for the whole km.
