I'm going on a road trip visiting some national parks in a few weeks, so I'll be driving through and parking at some pretty scenic areas. I'd really like to make some time lapse videos, but right now all I have is a decent point and shoot digital camera. I was wondering if I should buy a webcam and get a program that will set it to take a picture every 0.5 seconds or something, or if I should just put my camera on record and then speed it up something 4-8X. The latter would definitely be easier, but it would also take up more memory, and I don't know if it's really practical to record hours of driving.
Anyone here have a little knowledge with this stuff? Please keep in mind I'm a college student and want to spend as little money as possible.
