I stopped feeling young when I stopped banging 20 year olds, so I went back to banging them. Life is good once again.
Seriously, young girls do wonders for one's energy.

I refuse to stop feeling young.

Agreed.
I'll take a slightly different approach since how you "feel" can be a product of some very temporary things (like stress, diet, etc.).
I've been continually active and competitive since junior high (not always running, I was a competitive cyclist for a while, and then a triathlete, and now in the past 3 year just a runner again). I'm 48 now.
I noticed a notable change in my ability to recover around 28. My raw speed started to erode but made up for it with more power and strength. But that damn recovery thing hit me hard at 28.
I saw no real erosion in anything into my 40's. My times at the short stuff was the same, but in my mid-30's I got much much stronger than I ever had been (I was cycling, and still running). At 41 I cracked a sub-10 Ironman, something I could have never done in my 20's. I just wasn't strong enough then.
At 43, I was injured for 6 months and never fully bounced back. I have not been able to hit the times I did as a younger guy. Sucks. I did PR in the marathon at 45, but my marathon time was soft. In fact, it still it. I can't figure that race out.
I'm 48 now, and feeling like I'm going through another drop. I just feel older than I ever have before. I'm running the most miles I have since high school (about 85 a week) and it's killing me.
About once a year I have a run that feels like it did when I was 18. Seriously, if there was a drug that would let me feel like that all the time I would take it. I'd stop competing out of the fairness issue, but I'd totally try to capture that feeling. I'm not aging gracefully and say a big fvck you to you guys who are.
I'm 19 and I feel older than the students I go to college with. Not a lot of maturity around here.
...I'm 54 and been competing/running going on 38 straight years...and I still feel young! No joke, it's between the 'ears' as friends older than me have said. And, it's true, you're what you feel! It's mental...and if you let depression/old-age get to you, then that's what you're going to be.
Being a 'runner' doesn't make me any better than the guy next door or invincible..but my mental outlook is that much better. I've raced over 20 marathons and have experienced enough pain/discomfort to crush my much younger co-workers/kids!!! Again, it's all how you look at your self and project self-image.
My guess is that I'll never 'feel old' until I'm confined to a wheelchair/'scooter/rascal'. Until then, I'm going to enjoy life and continue to run/race my 'arse off!
I still feel really young (I turn 21 in September). Glad to see a lot of you older people are still out there running and feeling good.
A lot of my friends are a year or two older than me and are graduating this year from college. Most of them are sad about turning 22/23. And claim they "feel old". Kind of sad and annoying at the same time. If you feel old when you are that young what really do you have to look forward to?
I really can't answer this with a straight face. I'm in total denial. I feel great. It's just that the damn stop watchs run faster and dumbells are heavier than 30 years ago.
Still got the moxy to train 10 hours a week. Rather than covering 90 miles though it only amounts to 60.(or a crosstrain equivalent). Doesn't make me feel old though, only slower.
My wife still finds me buff. I still put in a days work that drops most kids in their tracks. April 15th is coming up and Uncle Sam is looking for cash. I don't have time to feel old.
20 and I feel very old. Death of people very close has a way of making you feel like that.

lol I'm 25 and I feel like I'm 14.
I won't tell anyone my secret. I also don't look like I'm 25, I could pass for a highschool freshman apart from being 6'2".

This is a funny thread.
A few years back, at the age of 38 or 39 I was starting to feel old(er). Lots of responsibility (home, career, family, etc.) combined with being out of shape (fat).
Now, I'm staring at 41 years of age in about a month and I'm feeling younger than ever. I've lost 50 lbs and I'm pursuing athletic goals like I did when I was chronologically young.
I think its a state of mind, more than anything.
If you could step into your twenty year old body for a day you wouldn´t feel young now anymore.
I'm almost 40 years old & I feel great.
I love that I still have a pretty decent body for a guy my age. (How many others at my age still have flat abs? Not too many, I suspect.)
I love that I'm doing things that most people my age can't. I run 50 miles a week with workouts, lift a few weights here & there, etc.
I sometimes forget that I'm an adult with real responsibilities & am actually a role model & member of the community.
I feel like a little kid playing grown-up. I own a house, pay bills, etc., but still think, "What the hell am I doing?".
Life is good. And, important piece of advice here, life is as good AS YOU MAKE IT.
when George Strait's "Troubadour" came out...
it is going to be a while before i start to feel old, i'm about to turn 26 and last year i got asked what HS i go to. i still act pretty imature from time to time also. plus this year i plan to start grad school, where i will be surrounded by older people once again and still feel young!

You are still a baby. Don't take yourself so seriously.
first good piece of advice LR has given

Being covered in pimples is not a sign of feeling young.
And for you guys in the early 50's. 55 is a huge, scientifically proven, year for your muscle deterioration. Don't ask me why, but at 55 I lost a lot of power.
Thankfully I had a lot of power, so I still had plenty enough to deal with the old guys I ride with. But 55 is the hump year.
As for feeling young. It's no where near as satisfying as being young. Don't let anyone kid you.
16, i just realized that youthful pep was gone. i went on to break 1:50, 4, and 14:00
Some of you may be suffering from low testosterone or "low T". Talk to your goddamn doctor right away.
I was at a coffee place and the guy asked if I wanted room for milk.
I said, "Nope, fill it to the rim with Brim."
He said, "I have no idea what you're talking about."
