Over the course of a few months I've investigated into some weird happenings on letsrun; here are my conclusions:
LETSRUN will be redesigned because:
-The training thread was deleted because there will be new sections on the site for training advice...thus a message board revamp.
-soon all visitors who wish to post will need a registered handle.
-the message board will be separated into appropriate topics.
Watch and see if you don't believe me.
I wouldn't be surprised to see a training section. The ideas on training were one of the best things on the site long ago.
However, trying to regulate the messageboard will go over as well as a coach trying to control what is talked about out on training runs.
It's not that big of deal to choose what to read or ignore. We do that in conversations continually. I like the fact that there is a stream-of-consciousness element to the messageboard and the anonymity allows everyone to speak freely. The moderators already take care of most serious issues. Too many running related message boards are like ghost towns to start with or become like one once fees/registration are required. This site has been a valuable resource for years. There is no reason to change it.

And the training info is still there if you know where to look.
How about requiring registration on the training forum only? That way you get serious, accountable dialog there, while still preserving the free nature of the rest of the board?
Yeah, let the trolls keep the power. That's a good idea.
i think there's definitely a value to anonymity. definitely a lot of interesting stuff said on here that people wouldn't if they weren't anonymous

You obviously have no idea what the original training thread is. It is not listed on the main page. It used to be listed at the top of the forums.

Letsrun will never revamp the boards.
It would be terrible. People wouldn't be able to randomly post whatever spiteful bs they want just by changing their name.

I totally agree. Registration would mean that you couldn't easily comment on your own comments/threads just by changing your name.
Keep letsrun the same. It is the necco wafer of message boards. No point in changing what doesn't need changing.

I DO know that you DOOFUS, that's why I am asking where it is. "puscifer" indicated "the training info is still there if you know where to look" I want to know where I should look. Some other DOOFUS on another thread said it was on the front page. I can't find it there and now you have me all worked up!!!
