S. Palin is the only true American patriot Republican that can win anywhere anytime anyhow.
Any combat veterans in the GOP ?

Yeah the right wing loved his healthcare reform idea.
SUP BRO WILL BE RUNNING FOR THE GOP IN 2012, ALONG WITH CHRISTINE O'DONNEL AS HIS SIDEKICK. THIS NATION HAS TURNED INTO A BUNCH OF GIRLY MEN WHO DO NOT KNOW WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A REAL MAN. SUP BRO WILL IMMEDIATELY INSTITUTE MANDATORY WORKOUT ROUTINES, DIETS, AND DISTRIBUTED SUPPLEMENTS ACROSS THE NATION TO COUNTERACT THIS. CLUBS WILL NOW BE GOVERNMENT FUNDED, THE NATIONAL BIRD WILL BE CHANGED TO THE CHICKEN (BECAUSE IT IS THE BEST SOURCE OF PROTEIN) AND YOU WILL ONLY BE ALLOWED TO VOTE IF YOU CAN BENCH YOUR OWN WEIGHT AT LEAST 10 TIMES CONSECUTIVELY.
WE WILL ENTER A NEW PROHIBITION PERIOD AND BEER WILL BE OUTLAWED, THOSE EMPTY CARBS ARE NO GOOD. SUP BRO'S ADMINISTRATION WILL ENCOURAGE PARTY GOERS TO TAKE SHOT-SHOT-SHOT-SHOT-SH-SHOTS OF JAGER AND HENNESY IN ORDER TO STILL HAVE A WILD NIGHT, BUT MAINTAIN THAT JACKED FIGURE.
THE ONLY CARS ALLOWED TO BE MADE WILL ALSO BE HATCHBACK HONDA CIVICS AND HARLEY DAVIDSON MOTORCYCLES.
WELL IT'S BEEN REAL, BUT SUP BRO HAS TO WORK ON HIS ACCEPTANCE SPEECH - AND THAT IS GOING TO TAKE A WHILE.
PEACE FELLAS

Mitt Romney was for Obamacare before he was against it.
I'm sure there are plenty of moderates out there who could beat, or at least run a close race against Obama. However, the GOP is gradually getting more and more crazed-Tea Party-right wing-esque, meaning a moderate who would have appeal with independents doesn't have a chance in hell in the GOP primaries. If things keep going this way, the Republicans will likely nominate some lunatic who will alienate all but the extreme right.
Keep in mind though, two years is an eternity in politics. This time two years ago pundits were calling the GOP "dead" and theorizing about a permanent Democratic majority.
They're all going to cannibalize each other, and there are going to be litmus tests that none of those with any sanity and integrity left will pass. Obama will be re-elected.
Objectively speaking, if there is such a thing, leaving the actual merits and credentials of the candidates aside, no one who has run a worse campaign than the other guy has ever been elected president in my lifetime. As much as I might have preferred Gore and Kerry to Bush 43, both of them ran terrible campaigns. Clinton was also lucky that he ran against two old ineffectual guys (even if one of them was the incumbent).
I don't like any of these current Republicans will campaign as well as Obama.
Oh please God let it be Sarah Palin...
Mitt Romney is a sick joke and so is the opportunist Sarah Palin. Tragically, given the intellectual state of America, that could very well be the Republican ticket. If that happens, the Republican voters will deserve another 4 years of Obama. There is only one person who can beat Obama in the general election, and that is Ron Paul. But since Faux News will marginalize him again, he probably won't get the ticket. If he got the nomination, the media would have no choice but to pay attention to him, and then it would be over- as soon as people heard that they don't have to pay an income tax, they would say f*** Obama.
I think it would be the funniest moment in political history, topping the Sarah Palin as VP candidate last election, if Donald Trump won the nomination.

Um . . . John McCain?
There is money in running for president and not winning the nomination. If you currently do not have a steady political job, you a) get your funding paid for a year or more, and b) get your name out there to get a pundit or think-tank gig.
Right now we're hearing about the people who want to run for the nomination and not get it. In about 6-9 months we'll hear about the people (or person) who wants to run and win. No guarantee they'll have any chance to win the general election, but the pile of losers we're getting right now is by design.
I would argue that the Democrat party is the one who has become "crazed" and really cannot be distinguished from the social democrats of Europe. This has been the reason for the pushback. As far as lunatics in office alienating all but their base....well we have that right now.
I might say Bobby Jindal if not for his far-from-moderate social stances.
I was under the impression Romney was simply governing in MA when their healthcare bill passed, I didn't think he was a proponent of it... am I mistaken here? I've never looked into it, I could be totally wrong here.
I don't think any Republican who isn't at least somewhat socially moderate has a chance. Ask anyone who has to deal with the negative effects of it, and they'll tell you the economy is still tanked. The job market is crap right now. Unless that changes drastically, a Republican with a clear plan of fiscal conservatism, with few or no socially conservative skeletons in his or her closet could very well beat Obama. But who fits that criteria? Nobody that I know of right now, at least nobody who has any chance of gaining notoriety in the popular media. Ron Paul has some moderately conservative social convictions, but his voting record is quite centered on social stuff. His thoughts on the tax system and the gold standard could both be toxic, even if he knows that as president he could never realistically implement them. If he somehow got the Republican nomination, it would be interesting to see how he would fare against Obama. The hardline Republicans would come out for him as a matter of party allegiance, and I think he could swing a substantial number of moderates.
Romney will be the hands down frontrunner and will suffer mightily at the hands of the Tea Party. He will get pounded for being in the Church of LDS, frolicking around France during his missionary days, while everyone else his age was getting ripped to shreds in Viet Nam and for being too centrist as governor of MA (cut corporate tax loop holes, raised fees on everything to cover budget gap, provided near universal healthcare).
Chris Christie will be the guy for the Republicans because he is a celeb among tea baggers.
""Mitt Romney is a sick joke and so is the opportunist Sarah Palin......." ~~A bioengineer~~
Its your opinion that you don't like Romney, you don't Palin, and you don't like this guy, and you don't like that guy. But it is a fact that Ron Paul has zero chance of getting the Republican nomination, and even less of a chance of beating Obama in 2012. So, while you are entitled to your opinion, don't come on the LR and pretend to know the pulse of this country. Ron Paul is not a serious candidate. You are delusional if you think he has any chance. And you are wasting your time and energy promoting this looney bin.
