The 2011 trials were held at Addis Adaba altitude of 7541 feet. We all know the Ethiopians are extraordinary at distance running; however, the times suggest all of the courses were short (or 85% of the Ethiopian runners are in WR shape).
Never before have so many senior men broke sub 33 for 12km from the same country in the same race.
The women's winner time suggest she averaged slightly under 4:17 per mile for 8km. I guess she will run under 28:30 this year on the track?
And junior females event rarely see 2 or 3 girls under 19 minutes not to mention six and probably more as they only list times for top 6.
