They are alright. I went through a huge Green Day phase a little while back, but now they are just okay
In my humble opinion, the albums 39/Smooth through Nimrod are fantastic. Warning was very good. I can understand why people like American Idiot, and I like it as well, but 21st CB was a bit of a disappointment. They do put on a great live show though. I saw them in Miami and the played for over 3 hours easily.
I'd definitely go to a Green Day show if they played locally, but I wouldn't call them the (or Styx) the best band of all time. I would put Mr. Coltrane's quartet above any band listed in this thread. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=olOYynQ-_Hw
