He's in the 600. Given that Abda's seed time is first and Loxom's NT is last, does that mean they'll be in the same heat, given that it will likely be seven heats with three guys in each?

If Lukas Verzbicas could somehow compete in this meet how do you think he would do? 403 mi 843 2 mi 1418 2 yrs ago just curious what letsrun thinks he would do here - top 8 in any of these events?
Abda isn't in Cas's league. They will indeed be in the same heat. Abda better take it from the gun to make final!
The head coach of Penn State doesn't include a seed time for the best athlete in the program? Jesus, this is your full time job you idgit, dot your i's and cross your t's! Harry Groves wouldn't have done that ..........
Settle down ass munch. If an athlete has not run the event during the season, then they are entered as a no time. Find where Cas has run a 600 this year and he can enter that time, but you will be hard pressed to do so.
Wht did Bem leave MSU after his freshman year? He is from MN. If he wanted to go their why not go right after HS? How much eligibility dies he have left? Is he done in the spring?

While I think that Cas is an extremely talented runner, I think PSU is at a huge disadvantage having not run on a 200 meter flat track, especially for the shorter races. Abda is an incredibly polished 600 meter runner already and the thing is is that he knows exactly when and where you can make passes during this race on this kind of track-and when you should hold back, while Cas has not done a 600 on a flat track since last big 10's. It should be interesting, kind of sucks that they will be in the same heat, but im sure their heat will come out with time anyways, im sure he is well aware of who is in his heat and that only 1 non-heat winner will get out if there are 7 heats. I think it is understated that Abda has been splitting 46's on flat 200 meter tracks, which is blazing, so its not like Abda is some slouch

Ok I'll bite. He could probably get 3rd in the 3000. Wouldn't be surprising he's in 8:00-8:03 shape.
how does PSU have no quality distance runners with a team that made it to NCAAs??
This conference is very much improved.
May not be quite as top heavy as SEC or Big 12 in some events, but if you put the 4th best performance in each event, it is just as good depth wise!
Couple thoughts I notice.
If IU's distance runners don't come through according to form chart, they won't even be top 5.
Wisconsin has a very balanced team.
Unbelievable that Minnesota doesn't get more respect as they are very balanced and have proven guys in key places.
OSU has put together a strong program when they can still be in the hunt losing so many studs from last year.
Iowa is so much improved, but still have holed (distance and throws). Surprising because they have one of the best throws coaches in the country.
Penn State has some serious horses, but not much in the way of field events and doesn't look good in mile, 3k, or 5k. Mid-distance guys get some double-digit events to go along with Frosch phenom and could also be in a position to win.
What on earth happened to Michigan?
MSU and Purdue are bad. Very bad.
MUS has some good MUSings.
A couple of questions. Ohio State usually seems deep but I am not a close watcher. They, along with Penn State and Illinois as THE schools in rather large states and would seem to have a large potential pool for in-state walk-ons. Why do these schools not get more depth than they seem to; Minnesota and Wisconsin both stretch their allowed scholarships by getting good in-state guys without chewing up too many of those valuable awards?
I too think Minnesota should be getting more respect. Among other things, if you look over the last decade I think you would see that even when Wisconsin was winning Minnesota was consistently competing well (and have won multiple titles in a row). I think that this reflects well on the team and that they Big Ten meet is very important to them and that they have only modest chances at NCAAs, so the Big Ten meet gets focus and peaking. Wisconsin seems to possibly be hedging their bets a little, with Nutty's comments about some guys focusing on NCAAs.
A call for opinions: Are track and field/ XC fans hurt by the Big Ten Network because they have the rights to the meet and thus others do not get to video and share it?
While i love your comment towards the gophs and you are completely accurate on gophers deserving respect, i almost saw it as a jab at them at the same time- You don't think that the gophers have a couple guys that they also plan on peaking for nationals, ala blankenship and hegerle (yes throwers peak as well)- I dont know, i feel like that was just a comment you like to make as almost an excuse that the Big 10 meet isn't as important to them as the gophers if Wisco doesn't win. Every coach peaks certain guys at different times based on their chances for nationals aspirations, so i don't think its just nutty hedging his bets- just my 2 cents

right. because he could beat 3 seasoned racer IU guys who've run under 8 this year. idiotic. he's a high schooler.
I'm going with Iowa on the Men's side and Northwestern on the Women's!
Good luck to everyone competing!

This is correct. He would be lucky to be 7th. Ahmed, Darling, Poore, Bayer, Blankenship, Mead. Seriously...hes going to beat any of those guys? No way! And I'm only saying names off the tip top of my head.
It would be easy enough to see that perspective (that there is a bit of a dig), but it was not meant that way. If you look at my postings over time [I almost always post under this name (except for some threads on personal stuff)] you can see I have very consistently cited Minnesota for their ability to compete well at Big Tens. I did not mean it as a dig, but more in the line of being able to focus and get every one ready physically and mentally to compete in that meet. Look at what they did last year -- they killed the conference with 160 points, I think. The comments about focusing on the NCAA with a couple of the guys for Wisconsin was with a tint of anticipating a bit of disappointment as to how things are likely to turn out.
Mr 26mi235,
It is obvious you are a big Badger fan, but don't begin to paint a picture of big state versus poor little Wisconsin and Minnesota. Those knowledgable about athletic and institutional aid know the amount of "extra monies" these schools enjoy. What people don't understand is that these "big state" schools have so many people apply, they don't need to have minority/need/or even a great deal of academic aid available. Even as a Wisco supporter, they have reciprocity with Illinois so get all the population of Illinois PLUS Wisconsin!
Illinois doesn't have reciprocity with Wisconsin... get your facts straight idiot
Wisconsin has it with Illinois.
Fact.

FALSE. they have reciprocity with Minnisota and Minnisota alone.
Post off facts not your gut instinct that supports your biased veiwpoint
