GNAC, the same conference plagued by the men's mishap at the West Regionals in XC in 2008, in which the biker leading the race took the leaders down the wrong path. GNAC, the same conference that had to cancel their 2009 outdoor track conference due to possible swine flu (that ended up being the normal flu (the normal flu was worse than swine flu)).
Well, this time, had a terrible announcer, making mistakes during the men's heptathlon 1000m, calling it the 10k.
Also, in the woman's mile, the two leaders (Jessica Smith, Simon Fraser University and Jaclyn Puga, of Northwest Nazarene) passed lap 6, at around 3:47, they rang the bell, and these two girls obviously couldn't count to 8 and didn't realize that a 4:20 mile would be way out of their leagues.
The announcer told them to keep running one more lap, and the two girls jogged the last lap, leaving for a 100m sprint to the finish of 5:04.8 and 5:05.6. The announcer then announced that the reason he knew the girls weren't done is that 4:20 is a really fast mile for girls.
