You don't understand hashing. FRBs don't always, but often, get to the on in before speedsters. FRBs are Front Running B*stards. The On In is the beer awaits, at the end if the trail.
If you a speedster, you run in front. If you run in front you are first to arrive at what is called a check, which us where the tails is no longer clearly marked. You have to figure out where the trails, meaning you might run in circles for awhile. The first person might waste a minute or more trying to solve the check. In the meantime, someone like me would arrive at the check and solve the trail, while the speedy guy is still lost. By the time the speedy dude figures out you're on the right trail, while he is still jerking around, you can suddenly be as much as a half a minute ahead of him.
A typical hash trail has 10-20 checks, depending on how evil the hare ( trail marker) is. A check can be easy to solve. A check can be very difficult to solve. A check can also have long false trails leading off it. False trails mean, oops, wrong way, I must run very fast to catch up now, and I must race past the slowest runners, and even the trail walkers.
