For some reason I was kicked off the Brooks ID team this year. I have a Brooks ID jacket I really like. Do you think it is acceptable for me to still wear it in public?

no
you need to buy a brooks fanatics jacket
Here's my opinion, don't wear it. I too, used to be a part of the ID program. I left before the recent "layoffs" for the sole reasons that they never had my size shoe in stock. I as a member for 2 years, even went out to their Brooks Camp out in Washington, but 99% of the time had to order shoes from our local store because I have large feet and they never had my size.
I support Brooks decision to re-align what they are looking for from their ID members. It was a great initiative and unfortunately it didn't fit my needs. However, neither you or I are in their program anymore and shouldn't go around wearing items as if we are. Join a local group and show your support for something else.
I love Brooks shoes and all,and it's really cool to go after dreams and be a Brooks ID "sponsored" athlete even as a sub230 or sub240 semi-competitive local marathoner. However, you can get cheaper shoes and gear using the runningwarehouse team discount with UPS free 2day shipping, so I don't really see much benefit in being part of Brooks ID.
I wear the Brooks Launch (and did before I was in ID). The price on RW is $90. It used to be cheaper, but it looks like they jacked up most of the "base" prices to MSRP. Explain to me how a 15% discount is better than 40%, plus occasional free gear for getting my picture in the paper?
Continue wearing it. Not sure what kind of jacket it is, but the singlet and shorts are available for anyone to buy whether or not they are sponsored.
What would be different about you wearing a Brooks jacket compared to whatever other brand jacket you would have to get to replace it.
Yeah...keep wearing the jacket in public. 100% of the non-running population and 99.9% of the running population don't know or care about the ID program.
