Full disclosure, I currently weight 180 (up from my peak running form of 128), and only visit here sparingly. However, I do love track, still, and wanted to share my opinion. Flame at will, as I know you will, because it's in your will. Hail to the Bro-Jo's, been a minute since we discovered your pickles weren't quite as waist-thrift as you thought:
"What you do to track is a travesty, but it isn't your fault. The entire organization is corrupt. The key is to focus on the beauty and impermanence of Track. A dynasty in basketball: Larry Bird. Hockey: Gretzky. Baseball: Berra. It just doesn't exist in Track, and that is what makes it great. Forget about athlete profiles, hell, half the time the network showcases someone in the NYC marathon (men) - they run 2:36 and look like crappola. Get your head right. Marathon. Greek. Legend. Death. Impermanent. Focus on the core of the sport, how cruel and under-paid it is. Get people to gamble and bet on it. Elite runners are no different from people trying to buy a lottery ticket. Respect."
