Details friend, details. Without them it appears you're asking for a handout.
Okay. Graduate of The College of New Jersey in History Secondary Education, but have become a bit disenchanted with the teaching occupation especially since the layoffs in my state and the layoffs to come in NY.
Months back a family friend suggested sales to me because he thought it would be something I could be good at. I took his advice seriously and began my search campaign.
I had interviews with Metlife Home Loans, Aerotek staffing, CBS Interactive advertising sales, and an internet marketing company. I got fairly deep into the interview process with these jobs but ultimately they went with someone else (with experience) or things unraveled for one reason or another.
I have continued my job search for long term substitute jobs and as of this week I sent out my resume to more advertising sales positions.
Unfortunately I do not have any sales experience to speak of so even getting an entry-level position is difficult to do.
I don't know of any other info without basically posting my resume.
Look into marketing jobs as well. You kind of have to have the right mindset to be in sales. We are not an hourly wage or salary types of people. Most people who are in sales are in business for themselves and are usually the entrepreneur type. I have been in sales for only 4 years but found that it pays a shit ton more than being a teacher because I went to school to become a teacher then switched my senior year and minored in marketing but majored in history.
I would suggest reading Rich Dad Poor Dad, 7 habits of effective people, Zig Ziegler books, even Malcom Gladwell books get you pretty motivated.
