I am trying to get a woman a fair shot at an Olympic Trials qualifier (she has a legit opportunity) and I am looking for a cooler weather and competitive marathon race on a fast course. We would rather get it out of the way this spring, as opposed to worrying about squeezing it off this fall.
Here is what I have come up with and I'd bet some of you know something I don't and can help (thank you by the way, we are appreciative).
-Boston sold out too soon.
-The LA marathon and Napa Valley Marathon are too early.
-I've heard the Eugene Marathon is a slow, crummy course with only two water stops, lots of turns and 8 miles of concrete at the end. We're looking for something fast and more professional.
-Grandma's in Minnesota is a possibility but I would worry about the humidity and heat there although it seems to generate great performances so maybe that's the one.
-Rock 'n' Roll San Diego I've heard is quite warm and we'd rather avoid the heat if possible.
-I am not familiar with any races in southern Canada (i.e. BC) but perhaps there is an option I should consider.
Thank you for your input, everyone!
