I am 3 weeks away from goal race and until this week everything was going pretty well according to plan and I have successfully been doing speedwork on Tuesday, tempos on Thursday, and long run on Sunday. This was supposed to be a key week because it was last training week before taper, but Sunday night I came down with the stomach flu and spent all of Monday in bed and could not hardly move without losing it so needless to say I did not run. Tuesday I felt better, but when I tried to run Tuesday evening I still felt weak so I avoided the speed workout and instead put in an easy 6 thinking I would be ready for a solid workout Wednesday night. Last night after warming up the plan was to do some 400meter hill repeats, but less than half way through I felt vey drained and light headed so I cut the workout short and cooled down. I am feeling better today, but the week is basically gone so does anyone have any suggestions on how I can git my traiing back on track. Should I treat this week as part of the taper or should I start the week now and go with a one and a half week taper instead of a two week taper?
