I've rolled my right ankle pretty bad several times over the years. The last was about 4 weeks ago. I iced it and hopped in the pool for a few days and was able to run on it again. The pain never completely went away though, and if I stepped on it wrong it still hurt pretty bad, but as long as I was running on even surfaces I didn't feel it at all. It didn't hurt to walk or anything either. Well, I iced it a ton two days this week, and then suddenly, after sitting at the computer for a few hours, when I got up to walk that foot hurt really bad. It didn't feel like it did when it was sprained, but from the middle of the lateral side of my foot to the ankle hurts like hell, and it even hurts on the lateral side of my lower leg. I've iced and massaged and haven't run the past two days, but it still hurts like hell. What's going on?
