Actually a schedule that I like better would have all of the qualifying rounds taking place earlier in the week and all of the finals on the final Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Except have the 10,000 on the first Friday.
Friday- 10,000 Final
Saturday- Dec day 1(100 p+q, 400 p, 1500 q)
Sunday- Dec day 2 (110HH p+q, 400 q, 1500 s)
Monday- (400 s, 400IH q, 800 q, steeple s)
Tuesday- (200 p, 400IH s, 800 s, 5000 s, 200 q)
Wednesday- (200 s, 4X1 p+s, 4X4 s)
Thursday -Rest Day
Friday- 100 (s+F), 400 F, 1500 F, Steeple F
Saturday- 110HH (s+F), 800 F, 400IH F, 200 F
Sunday - marathon, 5000 F, 4X1 F, 4X4 F
That would give a packed and exciting last weekend.
8/15 double would be- 15, 15, 8, 8, two days rest, 15,8
15/5k double would be- 15, 15, rest, 5k, rest, rest, 15, rest, 5k
The 200/400 double is always hard with 8 races, but this gets the 400 rounds completed before the 200 rounds and gives a full day rest before any final.
The 100/200 doable but some may not like having all of those races before the 100 final. So the 100 final may have to go back to the first weekend.
Or maybe push the prelims to the first week of the Games giving everyone a full week of rest before the finals.
