I like that they included a provision for 10+ year Boston finishers. As long as those runners hit the standard they can register starting on trhe first day it opens. They say there are only about 500 in that group.
It's 10 consecutive finishes.

You are SO right! I turn 50 a couple of weeks before Boston, so I get 4:05??? I am not that great a runner, ran a mediocre marathon last month and ran a 3:23. Qualified with 42 minutes to spare??? Bottom line: if you want an easy pass to Boston, be old and female .....
This is just another form of bragging. Oh yeah, I'm so slow, yet I run a time that most 50+ females would be thrilled with. This false self-deprication is pathetic. For a 50 year old you could do some growing up.

Where are you reading this? Is it on the baa website?
Hey Tufted: We interviewed Dave McGillivray today and he basically acknowledged that the idea came from a runner suggestion. I forget if he said it was a message board post, but think maybe he did. Anyway, I'd like to find out more about you, and give you credit. If you're game, you can reach me at Amby.Burfoot@Rodale.com
A friend, Spareribs, wrote a nice blog for the Dallas paper capturing his thoughts on Boston vs the way it was.... Nicely written I thought.
