I'd love any help I can get on this. Seems to be some weird javascript problem that only affects a small percentage of people in IE.
OK, first round of testing is done. I was using a clean Windows 7 virtual machine that was fully patched, but had no other additional software with the exception of a basic antivirus client.
For web browsers I used the built-in IE 8.0.7600.16385, and I installed Firefox 3.6.13 as well as Chrome 9.0.597.98. Based upon your comments about Java script, I then installed the latest Java RE, 1.6.0_23. In each instance within all three browsers, both the home page and the message boards loaded successfully. The only burp that I witnessed was that the video links on the right side of the home page wouldn't display where they normally do within IE8 until I switched to compatibility view.
If it's potentially a Java-related error, perhaps the people encountering the problems should try to remove the Java RE installed on their machines and download the latest version from here:
http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jspI will duplicate this round of tests on a Windows XP machine and report back shortly.
