I was 6th place, 2;24;04.
Just one of those days where I feel like I am stuck in the mud. I felt sluggish and heavy from the beginning, and I knew that it would be a tough day.
Lots of people were dropping out, including Josiah Thugwane, Simeretu Alemu and two of the top Japanese, so I just kept (trying to) hammer and pass people.
My time sucks, although finishing 6th in a Japanese marathon is good, and the Organizers here in Nagano treat me very well.
The new course is good, if the weather were perfect and if Khannouchi/Tergat ran it, they would go about 2;07-2;08. The only real hill is at 5km and there are some rolling sections on highways, but other than that it is Rotterdam-style Flat.
The local people really come out and support the marathon and it is on National TV.
I am not sore at all right now, maybe due to the fact that I was not able to run fast.
I am going to take a much-needed 2 week rest in Thailand now.

Great job. It was too warm for a great race today. 2:24 isn't anything to sneeze at. Enjoy the ladies in Ikebukuro and remember those lines in McDs and Starbucks.
yeah, that seems like a pretty good warm-weather run, considering everything. congratulations.

I believe he is a lawyer. Something to do with finance stuff though, not like a prosecuter. I'm pretty sure that's it.
I'm pretty sure I heard that he designs slot machines for casinos. Not positive about that. I could just be talking out my ass though. Nice work in the marathon Jason.
No, no, no, guys! I've met Jason and we are good friends. Jason is in auto parts sales. Thats why he is in Asia all the time. He travels on the clock and sells parts to auto manufacturers. Very cush job.
Jason lives off his parents.
Whilst he may try to snow you with mathematics, slot machines, patents and licensing, you have to dig a little deeper. He does have a patent for a so-called improvement to a slot machine, but it is not mathematically rigorous or mathematical in nature.
That aside, I enjoy his posts. He is out there doing what (and who) he loves. Shouldn't we all be so lucky.
And 2:24 and 6th at Nagano is nothing to sneeze at. Nice race.
I havent taken any money from my parents since 1993.
