There is no reason to regard NCAA rules as anything more than an ego trip by the pettifogs and control freaks at headquarters. Imagine, trying to stop a visiting runner from running with the team, or worse, wow, being ogled by the coach, flagrante delicto, in courant motion in short pants, leaving carbon footprints galore and fumes of deadly CO2. Schools should be able to treat their athletes any way they like short of force and fraud under the laws of the land.
But all the NCAA rules are less perverse than the Title 9 assault on the facts of life: greater male testosterone and athletic interest. Title 9 is a real scandal, now being used by gender prigs as an tool to suppress male competitiveness and provoke resentment of football.
In contrast, none of the usual recruiting offenses are even culpable.
