Verzbicas-3:59.86
Verzbicas-3:59.86
Verzbicas - 4:04.31
There's my guess, wonder who gets the closest.

Not sure if it is the same wrote:The "New Balance" Meet was held in the Armory in NYC at that time.
http://www.dyestat.com/rivals/8096466.htmlNo, this is the New Balance Grand Prix, formerly the Reebok Grand Prix. This is not the same meet as the New Balance Invitational which is primarily a high school meet (with a few pro events) and is run at the Armory every year, it is this weekend. Webb ran in the pro mile there his senior year. Nicole Blood did the same thing one year, too.
The Reebok Boston Indoor Games became the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix
The Reebok Grand Prix became adidas Grand Prix
Verzbicas will run 3:58 and become the 5th high schooler in American history to have run the mile in sub 4
Willis 3:57.41
Webb 3:59.95
LV 4:03.10
I say that Webb surprises and takes Willis to the line, but Willis gets the win.
Willis 3:55.13
Webb 3:55.34
Verzbicas 4:01.43
Manzano 3:57.4
Willis 3:57.9
Webb 3:59.5
LV 4:01.2
Looks like we won't have that dream matchup on February 5th between Willis Webb and Verzbicas
From Runnersworld:
"The 2008 Olympic 10,000-meter runner from Oregon was unable to finish a mile race at the Boise State Invitational. He'd had a flu shot earlier in the week, which could have been a contributing factor. Alan Webb, his colleague in coach Albert Salazar's training group, had come down with the flu a few days previously. Although it hasn't been reported yet, we're hearing that Webb is unlikely to run the mile as scheduled at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix in Boston on February 5."
Willis just soloed a 3:58 mile on a 200m flat track at the University of Michigan meet on Saturday. Will Lear paced him through 1000m.
I'm surprised that no one (well one person did) mention Willis' race.
The Olympic silver medalist runs and there is no publicity about it. Willis also came back and ran the 800 and lost to Curtis Vollmar by .02 (did anyone watch that race? If it was a true race, Vollmar got the thrill of a lifetime.)

Point of information:The mile came before the 800, and Willis warmed up 4 miles before the mile, and ran a 6 mile tempo run between the mile and the 800. Then another 6 miles cool down. Just a little workout, fellas.

I'm much more excited to see Wills v. Manzano than I am to see Verzbicas or Webb.
You're getting your wish. Manzano is in and Webb is out.
http://www.letsrun.com/2011/batman-0131.phpWebb - Out.
Anybody know why Webb scratched?
Saw something somewhere on the board about a hamstring issue, but haven't seen anything definitive.
Yes, hamstring. He said this in the interview where he gives LV the gatorade award.

Where is everyone getting the hamstring or flu excuses. He just says he isn't going to be in the race.?
