Shorter beat Denton at Sunkist. Denton won Millrose easily.

If I was Rupp and I was going for the meet record and I had to move around an 8:50 two miler with 3-4 laps to go I would be a little ticked.
This is crap. Anyone who is in a race has the same right to run on the track in lane one. If Rupp is too good for this race, then he is welcome to find a more competitive race. It is not like he is going around hobby joggers that aren't serious about running.
Crap? What level of running did you race in, middle-school, or local charity relay race? Pulling lapped runners was standard practice at many meets I was ran in college. Don't know where you're getting the loser idea "anyone who is in a race has the same right to run on the track in lane one." No, not if they are lapped, lapped runners should get out of the way and be thankful they aren't being pulled from the race.

That's not all in the same race is it?
If so, Rupp goes 8:11, German goes 8:20, and Lukas goes 8:39. Fam either finishes between between Rupp and German or doesn't finish at all. He does lead at some point early in the second mile.
There's no real race here. Just a bunch of stars, at different levels, running completely different races at completely different paces.
A pro star vs. a collegiate star vs. a high school star. This isn't the 1960s. They're not on the same level.
rupp 811? indoor? alone? i don't think so. fam finish a race that doesn't directly accord him some kind of sick prefontaine like ego-glory? i don't think so. verzickabacas run two 419s back to back in february??? i don't think so.
would have been hypothetical cool. but those times are not realistic this time of year in that race.

From a better contact at the meet director's office. If this happens, I fear letsrun.com might explode! :)
Millrose 2 mile:
Galen Rupp plus 2 rabbits
Looks like Galen has a very good chance to win this one.
The major benefit of this is just going to be to give Rupp exposure on TV (hopefully) and in front of a pretty sizable audience. It's obviously not much of a race, and on that track, which is even slower than people tell you it is, he's not gonna to get a fast time.
Millrose 2 Mile field from main website:
NYRR Men's Distance Challenge 2 Mile

Anthony Famiglietti
Stephen Haas
Liam Boylan-Pett--pace
Basically all the good people are in the Mile.
solid info from steakboy.
NYRR Men's Distance Challenge 2 Mile

Shooting for sub 8;20 to take down The Shifters 8:28 11 lap record I guess
lukas is not running this event.
he is running the NBIGP feb. 5 against webb and others.
