when is the race?

when is the race?
For being as injury prone as he is I can't Smith or GF agreeing to race all out on a tight 145m track...especially for 22 laps.
Would be funny if Verzbicas beat everyone, Fam got 2nd, German got third, and Rupp got last.

Millrose 2 mile:
Galen Rupp
German Fernandez
Lukas Verzbicas
Anthony Famiglietti
plus 2 rabbits
I might put more credence into this if you could tell me who is putting the fields together.
After 1+ pages finally we have one person not dumb enough to believe a completely unsubstantiated post by a guy who can't even spell indoor track correctly.
And for the guy who think LV can run 8:39 at Millrose ... are you kidding? Your other predictions are ludicrous too, but really, that one is atrocious.
My how far indoor track has fallen. Thirty plus years have past from the Sunkist Games in 1979 - where Nyambui, Rose and Rono fought it out with a tremendous last mile. I watched it. This Millrose Games two mile likely won't come close in terms of competitiveness and quality, although Rupp certainly is a great American runner.
Well Rupp is coming, and Verzbicas is coming. That's been acknowledged publicly. Not sure about Fernandez. And Famiglietti...what else has he got to do?

While 8:39 may be kind of crazy, the Rupp and German times listed are only about 2 and 5 seconds faster than their 3k PRs. So certainly very optimistic and unlikely, but not quite ludicrous.

Or maybe you can bet hes signing with Oregon! I wouldn't be surprised if Rupp is being asked to recruit him. His sheer celebrity should be enough to win over Lukas.
Or maybe Tennesee... or maybe somewhere in Ethiopia or Kenyan if an East African joins the race..
Maybe people would take you more seriously if you could actually spell the states name correctly...
Lukas is now signed on with Oregon.

This may well be true, but this isn't your "Garden" variety indoor track.
No one's signed on with anyone.

it's verbal but now likely he'll be at uo. no studying, no snow, no parents. who can pass that up.
Anyone know the 11 lap world record for 2 miles?
The Millrose 2Mile record maybe from 1974, Yifter 8:28 ??
At indoors ? Indoors is not real track. It's only for cold places.
I would imagine Geb has the WR now but for years it was held by Emil Puttemens in 8:14.
Verzbikas will be lapped on that track in this race. I hope he remembers to move out to lane three when the leaders come back around.
Who knows what Rupp is looking for. I guess in this day you don't need to chase a fast time on that track but there might be a bonus for a meet record. So if there is a rabbitt they will be going out in 4:10-4:15. Too fast for the high school kid. He'll have a couple people to race with I'm sure that will run around 8:40.

- Again, let's see something official, like a real link or otherwise or this is just yet another "F'ing F-tard" post by a shelopthink!

No rule, I would consider it simply etiquette when you get into a race with by far the slowest PR in the field and if there is any type of a record attempt going on.
If I was Rupp and I was going for the meet record and I had to move around an 8:50 two miler with 3-4 laps to go I would be a little ticked.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
