Seriously? How about the entire freshmen class for starters. The rest of the team should be better considering the times some of them put up in high school.
Completely new coaching staff at Brown. Literally like one coach left over from last year in the entire program - maybe two. So who knows how things will work out there.
i will be the first one to actually answer
Mark McGurrin from FM
Why go to brown, pc has better runners
Actually the girls team has really stepped up...they finished 3rd in Heps this year - only 3 pts behind Columbia! I'm pretty sure that says something. They have a young team and from the looks of it those girls are running faster than they did in high school.
I agree. The girls definitely have a promising team. anyone know of any girls who have committed?
on the other hand....the new coaching staff is more of a positive asset for brown than a negative asset. nobody particularly liked coach lake. the girls and guys team are definitely heading in the right direction.
Lauren Waterbury...100(12.39), 200(24.77), 400(55.10), LJ(18-8.5), TJ(37-4.75(

I hope you are not serious. obviously, pc has better runners, but why go to brown?

and pc's advantage over brown pretty much ends there
What can Brown do for you?
Its funny how things go. Back in the 1980's Brown was "trendy" college of the moment. People would kill to get in there. I'm not sure why. I sort of thought it was the same way today but I guess not.
Is Springfield coaching both men and women distances? He has a lot of experience, going back 25 years when he was an assistant under Martin Smith at Wisconsin.
why go to brown? well if someone chose brown over pc its obviously because academics. it's an IVY league school!
Springfield just coaches men i think. Jill Miller coaches girls distance. i think they work together and the teams are close though

It's all marketing, do the Ivy's have access to educational materials and info that the rest of the schools in the country do not?

Of course they don't have access to secret info.
But it's about more than marketing. It's about spending 4 years around students who actually love learning and becoming lifelong friends with people who will become leaders in education, business, medicine, law, politics, etc. It's about having roommates who will be future presidents, industry leaders and leading medical researchers and Federal judges, etc. That's really what it's about. It's like being a member of an exclusive country club. You can play the same golf game at the public course. But you won't be playing with Fortune 500 CEOs, etc.
These future leadres are so well connected before they get to the ivy's that they would end up in the same positions without the ivy education. There are those that love learning at these schools, but mostly it is a club of those that love power and money and have the connections to get there.
It's who you know, not what you know.
