There's more to this than an article. I'm thinking cable series. Or at least a MOW.

I also had a weird feeling that Clarkston Kent was Kip too. I felt like he was just trying to delay it everytime someone tried to bump it. I read all 80 pages two months ago and have periodically checked the thread to see if any new information has come up. I feel like were still missing a couple different pieces to this story. I have a friend running Chicago, so i'll make sure he's on the lookout for the Kipster.
Funny, that sounded ridiculous the first time I heard it. But the guy did 'fake' a marathon - why wouldn't he come on here and try anything he could to keep from being uncovered?

Clarkston Kent IS Kip.
Yet another example of Kip's evil genius. He comes on here claiming to be writing an article that will expose Kip...just to stall any future exposure.
I agree -- we have been had!
This guy is a smart dude!
His plan worked -- defer the whole thing and it will lose interest.
Clarkston Kent is NOT Kip.

86-87 secs should be good for a 2:49 marathon time +/- a couple mins either way.
What?? All you know is someone was doing 5:10 miles. You have no idea of the rest, or whether he was doing 4x1 or 12x1. And you say that's "good for" a 2:49 marathon? Please say you've never actually run before.
Correction- not 5:10 miles but rather 86 x 4 = 5:44 miles. This assumes the standard 4 +/- x 1 miles. The guys in the A group at my track all run mile repeats between 5:30-5:45 and all have marathon times 2:44-2:50. Obviously the more repeats the better the time. As much as I hate to say it, Kippy's lap times means he's in the ballpark of a 2:49.

Right. Because everybody knows that 3 or 4 x 1 mile (probably at 5k pace) is a great indicator workout for marathon fitness.
Especially for a person that's proven themselves such a mental case that they can't even complete the full 26.2 distance without finding a way to cut the course short.

Prove it. For instance I've never seen them both in the same photo.
It was a generalization. You can take the names out of it. If John Doe does these workouts and other standard marathon training, then he will likely run a sub 2:50 marathon time on a fair course.

Glad that GaryB already chimed in on this. I don't know CK personally, but his responses on this thread have shown such a consistency of being the most determined person to put a stop to KL's shenanigans, that this conjecture has no merits whatsoever. CK was the one who got Kip to take down his "World Record Run" website after evidence of Kip's race cheating became clear. CK wrote to reporters in Wyoming to get corroboration that the "West Wyoming Marathon" was totally fabricated. The list goes on.
Accusations of this type and defense of CK already appeared on this thread. See p. 57.
CK has obviously invested a lot of effort into this. Yes, it seems to be taking a long time to get an article out, but I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt regarding any reasons for delay. CK is probably doing all of this in his spare time and we should be thankful that he has taken on this effort.
Rumour of the day:
Race detective is Kip Litton.
Well I know CK personally. He is not the guy who cheated me out of an award at last years Thunder Roads marathon.
While I can appreciate the eagerness/impatience of so many that want the story to appear yesterday, this one will take as much time as needed. Kip knows the seriousness of the impending story - both that it'll make him look very, very bad and the size/nature of the audience that'll see it. This has to make him feel very uneasy AND this is why he's resistant to a personal interview.
Not to fear, the details of the story are many and lined up, waiting & hoping to be tied up soon. I don't need folks to ask me to 'put up or shut up' - I don't owe this board a thing. Offering suggestions on how to wrap up the story are fine but concluding w/'our media is truly becoming a joke' is not the case here.
I am not Kip. I've never met or personally spoken w/him. Hang loose, I'm confident the wait will be worth it.
Here is all the proof you need- If I were Kip I never would have portrayed myself here as a pompous know-it-all begging for credit for allegedly removing the website and solving the WY race.
I've been talking to some 9/11 "truthers" and apparently everyone in this thread other than me is Kip and I'm beginning to doubt myself
If you want a good interview, grab your recorder and just stick your mic in his face right after his kid's funeral. He won't be able to squirm out of it. Problem solved.

This is correct.
While I have never officially met CK, I know who he is and have seen him at many local races. He has been consistently involved in the local running scene.
By contrast Kip rarely runs the small local races in the last few years - likely about the time the cheating started.

What were the circumstances of Kip being monitored up at the Maine marathon? Did an individual or a group of individuals from letsrun go to Maine and announce to Kip that they were going to be watching him (prompting his last minute switch and apparently legitimate completion of the half instead)?
Is Kip possibly running races under an alias now? He hasn't run anything as himself since Thunder Road marathon last December.
