Mark Singer worked on Kip for weeks before Kip agreed to talk to him. You really think Kip was going to agree to be videotaped during the interview?

If he wasn't going to get any answers and he wasn't going to be able to videotape him, then I ask you, what's the point? A story of repeated information that is put into one does what? Use common sense dukerdog, in the end, what did the story do? Is it better than nothing, sure. Could it have been better, absolutely. He should have shown him the photos over halfway through and ask him to explain it. If he walks, so what? What has he given or admitted to? You can then truthfully say that when he was confronted with photographic evidence, he got up and walked and put that in the story. Wow, some of you guys who I thought had it together really aren't that bright.

He's on the side of the road in Boston, thinking he won't be photographed. You show him the picture and he says what? He explains that how? The 5k the day before and he says what? His chip time for the 5k and he says what? Wow, this is NOT the Scott that I have spoken with at races through the years or I have been duped.
As you know we LetsRun sleuths got Kip in that Jim Rhodes photograph at the 30K point at 2010 Boston Marathon.
http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_ik6d67YLaHY/TS-Sbcare0I/AAAAAAAAAHg/h8_dOu_-HJ8/s1600/DSC_2398.jpgAnd we know from the New Yorker article that Mark Singer confronted Kip on this particular "smoking gun" photo thinking "gotcha." But I believe Kip immediately fired a note back to Mr. Singer pointing out that he was wearing that same strange black long sleeve sweatsuit at checkpoints earlier in the race, while actually RUNNING in the middle of the road. - please see:
http://kiplitton.blogspot.com/2011/01/more-photos-discovered-of-kip-boston.htmlOf course, we still don't know the how...how he managed to hit all the mats at each 5k interval, changing baseball caps, getting rid of his long sleeved black shirt and long black pants, uncovering the racing bib, etc. And yes, if you try to talk to Kip about this, you'll get nowhere...in the article.. when confronted by Mr. Singer, the response is something like "i dont know what facts you're talking about"...(not exact but you get the idea)
Scott H is correct that Kip has not provided any explanations but just nonsense..Remember Mark Singer flew out to Michigan after Kip had failed to race 2012 Boston (Kip had sent a message pre-race that he'd be aiming for a 2:47). I may not have the facts correct, but my understanding is that...after a few days there (and a failed attempt to talk to him at the dental office), Mark was finally able to get Kip in front of him....at a local Wendy's!
It would be awesome to hear the audio of the interview with Kip. I just want to hear what his voice sounds like

I doubt Singer would ever release it since it would expose the poor interview he conducted.
How pissed was Singer when he showed up in Boston and Litton didn't?

Well he was going to be there anyway I think to see his sons run...
Mark Singer says:
"Monday morning was cloudless and unseasonably hot, heading to the upper eighties. I found a seat in a shaded section of the grandstand at the finish line, and felt open to possibilities. I might be on the brink of my first live Kip Litton sighting; a flock of green flamingos might happen by."
Slow day in the office Kip? You've been awfully active on the boards.
Harry, Jeb, Reid, or Susan?
Just go buy and read the full article

It is interesting that before the article came out people were complaining that it was taking so long. After reading the article, it is quite apparent that the article was rushed and clearly not ready for publication.
The only things missing are:
1) How did kip cheat? Bike? Car ride? Etc
This should be possible to figure out with more detective work.
2) Kip's explanation for why he did it?
This we may never know.
Check the comments on this follow-up article that just came out about an hour ago in the Flint Journal online:

Such a shame. Its seems that almost anything can be printed these days. I have been friends and a patient of Kip's for years. He is a very decent guy and a great dentist. There were many people that the writer could have talked to that quickly would have rendered these nasty accusations all but impossible. His family was right by his side at many of these races. Having a degree in Statistics, I can say that the odds of him getting disqualified for unintentional errors in 3 races is MUCH greater than him cheating in the other 197 races without a single person ever seeing him!! Negative sells- the posts following this one surely will prove this axiom"
Is there any truth to the writer not talking to his family or these "witnesses?"
Kip cheats
It's all bullsht

Well then you should put your incredible investigative journalistic skills to the task of writing your own story. If you could do "a better job, guaranteed" then you definitely should. Stop complaining about what a crappy job Mark Singer did, and just show us how it's done. You make it sound pretty easy, so it shouldn't take much of your time. And you apparently live in SE Michigan, so what's stopping you from doing this?
Of course, dukerdog resorts to libel. I never said he did a crappy job, not once you pompous slug. You set it up big guy and I will happily sit down with him. As I said, he would get up and walk which would speak volumes to anyone with a brain which obviously doesn't include you. It's a simple video interview. Incredible? More libel, as YOU said that, I never did.
Morning Kip
Are you really surprised?
Wake up, this is LR and guys like dd are not going to agree with anything that you say and it shouldn't have surprised you.
Logic and reasoning don't work here. Get used to it or go somewhere else.
By the way, good points, seriously.

Hi Kip.
