For every dollar that kip was proven to have funneled from CFF, I will donate 5 cents. Maybe if others join in, we can raise it all back.
Mark - are you with me on this?

Enough is enough. Let's remember that Master's running performance may be a matter of personal pride but is of little interest to anyone else, even the family of the runner. The sin of unjustly bumping fellow Master's runners down one place in a few Marathons hardly justifies public ridicule on a national, if not global, scale. Dr. Litton no doubt deeply regrets the unwise choices he seems to have made in falsifying results in a lightly regarded race division. It is time to take a joint deep breath and reflect that the suitable punishment for this crime is dq'ing and being subject to special scrutiny in future events. Anyone who has run more than a few races has seen suspect finishing results. The escalation of this matter to an article in the New Yorker has to be considered cruel and unusual punishment for a very, very mild crime.

Today, in response to an email from a reader who happens to be the father of a cystic fibrosis-afflicted child -- and who is properly outraged by Kip Litton's beneath-shameless exploitation of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, in all of its particulars -- I sent a contribution to CFF for 50 times the total that the Litton family has donated since 2004.
If you'd care to follow suit, in whatever amount, here's the site:

I don't believe you.

You need to send the brojos an equal amount since they provided the forum from which you lifted 99% of the information in that article.

Your assertion is a long damn ways from being true. You're just as Mark said exists here - a posturing troll.
OK. We'll just do it by email. You have my address.
Don't let these trolls get to you Mike. Keep up the solid work. Any follow up article in the works?
Just post it online. That will be fine.
Chances are both his personal accounts and DDS business accounts are with JP Morgan Chase Bank at 1121 South State Rd, Davison, MI. Find someone who works in the retail banking division of JP Morgan Chase, anywhere in the country, and they can look up his accounts and see accounts and transaction history.
No, just an observer very disturbed by this development and its impact on an individual caught in the headlights of national scrutiny.
Really, who cares about bogus results being posted in the Master’s division?
This might be an inflection point in journalism. That a story of such insignificance is elevated to the once lofty heights occupied by The New Yorker seems a sad comment on the decimation of journalistic integrity that the blogosphere has wrought.
If, however, the justification for the use of overwhelming force of public approbation is to be the supposed misappropriation of funds raised for CF, surely more convincing evidence should have been brought to light before publication of the article.
The article has nothing to do with the misappropriation of funds. The reason the New Yorker was interested is precisely because no one cares about Master's running results.
It's a tale of absurd obsession on both sides, Kip and his accusers.
Makes their smug readership feel better about their morning walk for a latte.
Congratulations???I'm not sure what you're looking for here.

I believe that would be illegal.
If no one has complained about sending him money, then everyone should just let it go. The most likely scenario is that no one donated to his website. Go set up a website about some ridiculous running thing you're going to do to raise money for charity and let us know how many strangers send you money.

Hi Kip!
No, wrong. dukerdog is somebody capable of seeing things for what they are - and not for a skewed, knee jerk version of the truth - as so many here settle for.
Give me your home address and I'll come over later today and pick it up.

What do all the idiots who said there will be no article on Kip Litton have to say now?
The problem is that it did very little to nothing. An interview that was videotaped and him being put on the spot, THAT would have done something. I train with 2 dozen guys a day and not one of them had ever heard of him until I directed them to this thread. Even still, they aren't going to go out and buy the New Yorker. A YouTube video would have iced it, but he's not that dumb, trust me as no one, not one person, could come up with a logical answer to the questions that he would be forced to answer. Carry on.

Don't you think that would be something a decent writer would investigate?
How do you know he didn't? If he found that there was nothing to back it up, then he should not mention it in the story.
MARK SINGER -- Did you?
