Kurt is the brother not Kent. You know what you are full of.

I had the urge to post yesterday, but I wanted to sleep on it first. I have to admit, I have contributed to the downside of LR- I have used aliases to post mean spirited comments in the name of the cause and in an attempt at humor. Before yesterday I had never met Kip Litton. Yesterday, I believe I had an epiphany.
Obvious troll is obvious
Some of this seems to be true. The church does exist so I called them. There was in fact a funeral yesterday at 10:30am. The guy who died was a 55 year old man. His listed address was in the same neighborhood as Dr. Littons. I will keep digging to see what else I can find.
this is getting to be the most bizarre investigation ever! but keep digging!!! lol
I've said it before and I'll say it again. The article will run in Maxim magazine. This thng is right up their alley.
Well, I don't know if this is a true story or not. I know Kip and I have recently met his brother named Kurt. As I said previously, Kip graduated in 1981 or so and Kurt in 1983 I believe. That puts Kip around 48 or 49. I doubt he had a coach that was 6 years older than he was but I guess it is possible.
I'm going to ask around to see if there is a brother named Kent.
The details on his personal life falling apart also intrigue me. If he actually lost his wife over cheating in a marathon (or two, or twenty), I'm not sure the relationship would have survived anyway. Seems pretty shallow based on hearing all the positive stuff that has been written about Kip on this thread.
Did you get Kurt to cop to being an accomplice?
I don't know about this case, but it might not actually be the running fiasco that caused the split, but rather the financial predicament that it put them in. The number one cause of divorce is finance related. Add to it a child's terminal illness and you instantly have a RECIPE FOR DISASTER.
i thought i read somewhere that Kip was a tennis player a long time ago, and then turned into biking a lot, and then maybe running. BECAUSE according to the Flint Journal article written on Kip Litton by Bill Khan, Kip got into running in 2001. So he's only been running for approximately 10 years. Most of us had coaches in HS/College, not when we're post-collegiates unless we hire a private coach or through a running club. I'm not sure Kip ever had a running coach, but correct me if I'm wrong.
To quote from the article, posted here
http://blog.mlive.com/flintjournal/runners/2010/04/042510-kip-litton.html
So Davison dentist Kip Litton began life as a runner by stepping onto a treadmill one day in 2001, starting it up and keeping pace with the moving belt.
'My goal was to do like three miles,' Litton recalls. 'I made it a little over a third of a mile before I got so dizzy that I started to fall off the treadmill. I had to grab the handrails to catch himself. I was completely out of shape. It was just ridiculous.'
That was nine years and 50 pounds ago, seemingly in another lifetime."

Due to a connection through my wife, yesterday morning at 10:30 am I found myself at a funeral at St. Daniels Church in Clarkston. I will not use the deceased name, but it turns out it was Kip Litton's best friend and running coach. I am not a religious man, but the priest's message deeply touched me. Life is short. Have a servant's heart. Forgive. Love.
I also had the opportunity to briefly meet Kip and Kent along with a couple other runners. What I saw genuinely saddened me. Kip is a broken and shattered man. Regardless of where blame lies, there is no doubt that this thread ignited his downfall. When a man has lost his wife, his children, his best friend, his home and some of his business there is a distinctive empty look in his eyes. In this case, the punishment far outweighs the crime.
So this is where it was?

I told you idiots the name of the magazine on pg 96 of this thread. I'm not telling you again!

Kip is 50. What does 6 years age difference have to do with a possible friend and/or coach? .

It amazes me how people don't get it. This is a personality disorder issue. There are no doubt other things in life he is less than honest about.
I didn't mention anything about Kip or running when I met Kurt. It took me by surprise that it was his brother as we met in a business setting. But, they look very similar and Kurt looks fit. I asked around afterward to confirm that it was Kip's brother.
We did not discuss any running related issues at all.
I will see Kurt again in the next week or so but I don't think it would be appropriate to ask questions about Kip as we may be doing business together.
Pics?
Dan Baxley said Kip is doing very well financially.
So you will patronize a cheater? Isn't that counter productive to what we are trying to do here? What type of business will you be engaging in?
The business I have with Kurt has nothing to do with Kip. And as far s I know, Kurt has nothing to do with the decisions his brother has made.
I won't interview Kurt on his personal decisions before hiring for professional work. However, if I did find out he is/was involved, it would taint my ability to hire him. Read that 'there is no way I would hire him.'
I just noticed something.
I always wondered how he manages to go through the finish line at or about a time that he is trying to manufacture. In other words, i would have thought that some of the finish line photos of Kip would have him staring at his watch to gauge how he is doing as he approaches the line. Otherwise, he would have to subtract his delayed starting time from the Finish Line Clock which could make him scramble to the line awkward and requiring too much mental arithmetic for a dentist.
But i just noticed that almost all his gun/start differential times are around 3:0x or 4:0x. Not all, but almost all. This is not a coincidence. This is clearly intended to make it easier for Kip to gauge how fast his approach to the finish line should be.
This might be obvious to you but it helps explain one of his logistical issues.
Good thinking, but that's not always true though. if it's a smaller race, Kip really can't wait too long to cross the starting line because the racestaff might disable the electronic starting mat after the last person has gone by. At Rochester, Kip took less than a minute to cross the starting line but you can see in the YouTube video of the 2010 start that he comes across pretty much in last place to begin the race and finishes with a different outfit on in the 2:50s.
You people should be ashamed of yourselves.
