In many sports, including basketball, we have the men's elite, and then we have other special categories: wheel chair, masters, juniors, women, special olympics, etc...
If a league of wheel chair athletes won 89 games in a row, we would congratulate them, but we wouldn't compare that to UCLA because they are a different category. Likewise, we can offer congratulations to the WOMEN'S record holders, UCONN.
Here's another example for runners. The world record for the marathon is 2:03:59. Period.
There are other records for different categories. The wheel chair record is 1:18:37 (Ernst Van Dyke), the master's record(40-44) is 2:08:46 by Andres Espinoza. The record for the special category of women is 2:15:25 by Paula Radcliffe.
Those who believe that UCONN broke UCLA's record are living in a make-believe PC land that has become so ingrained in their thinking that they can no longer even follow an unbiased argument with screaming, "Don't be hatin'"!
