Get well soon TRG!!!
Get well soon TRG!!!
Get well Stef, there will be a candlelight vigil for you in Fort Worth tonight.
Get well, Steph. Thinking about you.
Get well soon, txRUNNERgirl!

They ran one of those tests yesterday where they put a tube through her nose and down her throat to get some cultures. They're running a lot more tests this morning. We should have a lot more answers this afternoon.
She's exhausted, hasn't slept much for the last 3 or 4 days and is very tired of being poked and prodded.
Just heard that they may even try to send her home today. Cross your fingers !
They did that to my mom, made her sick as hell and put a tube down her nose "to try and relieve the gas" in her stomach because she was throwing up trying to get rid of all the poison crap they kept putting into her. I raised hell with one of the doctors, who knew exactly what I was talking about, said they would stop the patches and the other toxic stuff which I won't mention here but they were putting it into her digestive system!!! Good grief. There is no reason to put a tube in anyone's nose.
WTF? Are you Ben, or are you Dean?

Having placed many an NG tube into people with intestinal obstructions (and one on myself to see how it feels), I can tell you there are very good reasons to place those tubes; no idea with respects to your mom's specific case of course. But if your intestines are blocked or not working, for whatever reason, the pressure that builds up inside from all the various secretions is miserable. People feel a lot better when the 1-2 liters of fluid comes out, and relieves the pressure.
As for Txrunnergirl- hope she's doing well. Seems odd to me to have both a kidney infection and viral pneumonia going on at the same time, but sometimes occam's razor doesn't hold true. Hopefully they sort it all out.

Wishing you all the best, TRG, and a speedy recovery.
TXRunnerGirl...wish you the best, hun. Come home soon ...
Wishing you a speedy recovery. Never before seen so many posts so positive on this site.
You have very good karma. Things will work out well for you.
Thank you so much everyone. The love and support from friends, family and Internet strangers is much appreciated :)
I've always known there were good people on this website, and I've so many "real-life" friends from it, including nikeman. He has taken great care of me through this. I love you, Dave!
Turns out I had both a kidney infection and some unidentified viral pneumonia. It got bad in a hurry and I had to be put on oxygen in intensive care. I'll spare you all the rest of the details, but it was a nightmare. I was released from the hospital today and am on an antibiotic that is making me feel much, much better. I still feel a little sick and have a cough, so I'm taking it easy.
As for running, the doctor said I can start back Monday as long as I am feeling good. Until then, I think I'll kick back and enjoy Christmas.
Thanks again everybody!
P.S. I don't watch Fox News and I can't stand Sarah Palin. In a Barbara Walters interview, she said she was reading Dean K's book. She can't be trusted.
TxRunner girl as one of the token female letsrun posters needs to get well soon. It's scary stuff being in the hospital!
I have to say I am amazed by the absence of trolls in this thread. It is inspiring.
Good to see you're on the mend.
Welcome back. Kidney infections are bad news. Glad you are well (better?) so soon.
Get better soon Steph so I can get back to work soon!
Woo hoo, txRUNNERgirl, you escaped from there, good for you!

Aren't you the idiot who wants to force vaccinate everyone in the country. It does not surprise me that you would purposely block people's intestines and then shove a tube down their nose. Yes I am wise to your tricks.
How soon can you return to running doubles?
Good to read that you are on the mend. Hope you heal quickly!
Out of hospital today and almost ready to run! Good on you, txRunnergirl! An inspiration to us all.
Glad to hear you're on the mend. The pneumonia may have taken more out of you than you realize, so be extra careful not to overdo it for the next couple months.
Fresh garlic is your friend when fighting or preventing bacterial infections, but won't do much for viral ones.
Merry Christmas!
